Our Story

Macey's Project was born out of love, loss, and a deep commitment to making sure no one feels invisible.

Macey and I were childhood best friends. We grew up side by side, sharing love, laughs, and dreams for the future. As we got older, our paths began to look different. While life carried me one way, Macey faced challenges related to substance use, housing instability, incarceration and mental health-challenges that so many people struggle with every day.

Despite those struggles, Macey was more than her circumstances. She was kind, loving, and deeply human. She deserved compassion, understanding, and support-just like everyone else.

Macey tragically passed away, leaving behind a hole that can never be filled. In the midst of that grief, Macey's Project was created to honor her life and to transform loss into purpose.

This organization exists to support people affected by substance use and housing instability by meeting them where they are, without judgement. We believe in harm reduction, dignity, and human connection. We believe that access to resources and genuine care can save lives.

Macey's story is not just about loss-it's about love, remembrance, and the belief that every person matters. Through this work, her name lives on in service, compassion, and hope for others.

What We Do

Compassionate, low-barrier harm reduction services that prioritize safety, dignity, and survival.

Direct Street Outreach

We conduct direct, community-based outreach to engage individuals affected by the drug epidemic and provide them with lunches/snacks, weather appropriate clothing,  hygiene & female menstrual supplies, access to naloxone (Narcan), access to test strips, harm reduction education, wound care services, and treatment referrals.

Narcan Distribution

We distribute naloxone free of charge and provide education on overdose recognition, response and reversal. Increasing access to naloxone helps prevent fatal overdoses and empowers community members to act in emergencies.

Safer Use & Hygiene Supplies

Macey's Project provides safer use and hygiene supplies to reduce the risk of infection, injury, and illness. Access to these supplies supports individual health and promotes overall community safety.

Overdose Prevention Education

We offer practical education on safer use practices, overdose prevention, and risk reduction. Our approach is evidence-based and rooted in harm reduction principles.

Referrals & Community Resources

When individuals are interested, we connect them to medical care, substance use treatment, housing resources, and other supportive services. Referrals are always voluntary and guided by participant choice.
